As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I believe that our thoughts play a role in our feelings and behavior. I teach clients how to identify and re-frame destructive thought patterns, in addition to providing emotional tools to address issues that arise throughout life .
Anxiety, depression and associated disorders can cripple to our ability to function. It can suck the joy out of our lives, increase isolation and decrease motivation to achieve goals. I provide my clients with the support and tools to manage these symptoms and create a greater sense of life fulfillment.
Substance Abuse and Addiction
Substance abuse and addiction can a make our lives feel out of control and limit our ability to function in our jobs, relationships and areas of interest. Substances are often utilized as a coping tool to manage emotions that feel overwhelming. I assist clients in taking back control of their lives and identify effective coping tools to manage difficult emotions.
Disordered eating can be utilized as a coping tool when life feels out of control. Through the use of thought reframing, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional exploration, I assist clients in gaining confidence in their ability to address difficult emotions and experiences in a healthy way.
