Specialities
Mood Disorders
Anxiety, depression and associated disorders can decrease our functionality, reduce our everyday joy and fulfillment, increase isolation and decrease motivation to achieve goals. I strongly believe in providing individuals, couples and families with a comfortable and supportive atmosphere to assist in overcoming obstacles of daily life, in which I take an individualized approach for the needs of each client. I assist clients in identifying needs currently met through unhealthy patterns of coping and find alternative coping mechanisms that can increase life fulfillment.
Substance Abuse and Addiction
Substance abuse and addiction can a make our lives feel out of control and limit our ability to function in our jobs, relationships and areas of interest. Substances are often utilized as a coping tool to manage emotions that feel overwhelming. I assist clients in taking back control of their lives and identify effective coping tools to manage difficult emotions.
Eating Disorders
Disordered eating can be utilized as a coping tool when life feels out of control. Through the use of thought reframing, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional exploration, I assist clients in gaining confidence in their ability to address difficult emotions and experiences in a healthy way.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
ADHD is often related to deficits in mental health and self-esteem, in which one can feel overwhelmed, out of control, anxious, depressed and agitated. It can often create negative inner narratives that we are not capable of goals we would like to reach in life. Many individuals are diagnosed later in life, as they may have created protective factors that did not show their inner struggle to teachers or caregivers early on in life. I work with individuals to create systems to better manage executive dysfunction, paralysis, overwhelm and self esteem.
Parenting
As a parent myself, I deeply enjoy working with parents on the unique blend of highs and lows associated with this journey. I am passionate in validating the challenges of parenting while building tool kits to crate the highest fulfillment in this role.
